Many of the herd were also reported to have died in the process while those that survived the ordeal escaped into near by bushes.
The accident, which occurred about 7:52 pm on last Thursday, 6th of October 2016, was said to have happened when the trailer bumped into a pot hole at high speed and lost control.
It took about 35 minutes after the accident before policemen from the Nigerian Police, Ugep Division and some members of the Obol Lopon Vigilante to arrive the scene of the incident to restore sanity and ease traffic.
However, villagers who rushed to the scene apparently to loot goats where disappointed when they heard one person had died.
Speaking to one of them, he told our reporter that “According to our tradition, if an accident occur and one is dead, nobody touches the dead body or his or her belongings” .
